Sanjay Gandhi Animal Care Centre (SGACC) is the flagship initiative of People for Animals (PFA) — India’s largest animal welfare organization. Located in Raja Garden, New Delhi, SGACC holds the distinction of being the country’s oldest and largest animal shelter and hospital.
Every month, the centre rescues and treats nearly 1,000 sick, injured and abandoned animals — including dogs, cats, cows, buffaloes, donkeys, camels, pigs, monkeys, rabbits, goats, sheep and a variety of birds. On any given day, SGACC cares for over 5,000 animals, offering them a safe space filled with compassion and care.
At the heart of SGACC's mission is a powerful belief — animals are not just beings, they are lives. They deserve dignity, freedom, kindness and the right to heal and thrive, just like any of us. As some of the most vulnerable residents of our planet, they deserve our empathy and protection.
With dedicated teams, medical support and a commitment to lifelong care, SGACC continues to be a sanctuary where healing, hope and humanity come together.
